"The primary focus of my scholarship is Black men’s mental health and wellbeing. I study how we engage in and experience our various roles as fathers, father figures, and partners in our children's educational/therapeutic experiences, as counselors, as counselor educators, and community leaders. The secondary focus of my scholarship is on documenting the effects of anti-Black racism in professional counseling for clients, counseling students, practicing counselors, and counselor educators. The tertiary focus of my scholarship is identifying and responding to the professional development needs of school counselors who serve culturally and linguistically diverse students in urban schools."
